This Ai training statement is irrational and wrong

“Ai training is the electronic version of human artists being trained on copyrighted material.”

That’s obviously nonsense, I was not and am not force fed billions of pieces of data without my own experiences to relate those data to. For me, a human being, all love songs are not the same. All paintings of faces are not the same. All fight scenes are the same.

Unlike an Ai, I don’t see art or any genuine creativity for that matter in exactly the same way, in exactly the same environment, in exactly the emotional state every single time. Unlike an Ai, a copyrighted song that my daughter loved while she was alive did not influence me to make art in the same way on the day, week, month, year, decade after she died.

Ten artists being “trained” on the novels of Emile Zola, or the films of Alfred Hitchcock but in different countries, at different times of their lives, with their different gender identities, (dis)abilities, states of illness or health, loneliness or companionship, political freedom or otherwise, war or peace, rain or shine would make entirely different books, films, music, poetry, Art!

The statement that “Ai training is the electronic version of human artists being trained on copyrighted material” is not only inhumane, it is also non-sensical and irrational.
